The Munich "Bayern" club, despite their 11-year domination being interrupted, remained humble.

Immediately after Leverkusen's "Bayer" triumph, the Bavarian club issued a statement in which the three most responsible people of the club congratulate their opponents on winning the first Bundesliga title.

"Bayern" president Herbert Hainer said: "Congratulations to Leverkusen's 'Bayer' on achieving the historic first Bundesliga title in the club's history. The title rightfully went to Leverkusen club - it is a reward for an unprecedented season and excellent football. Now Bayern Munich's goal will be to reclaim the title in Munich.

"Bayern" CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen: "Congratulations to everyone at Leverkusen 'Bayer' club. They had an impeccable season, this team showed courage, class, and most importantly, stability, so they deserve to be the champions of Germany in 2024. I would also like to personally congratulate my colleague Fernando Carro (Bayer CEO) and our former player Xabi Alonso. One thing is clear: this will be another reason for us to work even harder until the trophies are back in Munich.

"Bayern" sports director Max Eberl: "Leverkusen 'Bayer's season was outstanding, so, of course, we as Bayern Munich club want to be the first to congratulate them. Especially want to emphasize and congratulate Xabi Alonso with his coaching staff and the whole team. Your football mesmerized the Bundesliga. The Bayern series is over, but now we are preparing to attack again.
