Argentinian national team member Nicolas Gaitan has decided not to spread his wings to a bigger European club and has signed a new contract with Lisbon's "Benfica" until 2019.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder in the Portuguese team is one of the leaders. He has been of interest to "Manchester United" for several years, but the footballer is not yet ready to finish his journey in the "Benfica" team.
N. Gaitan's contract will be valid for another four years, and it includes a buyout clause of 45 million euros.
"It's fantastic that we renewed the contract," - the Argentinean said. - It's a sign of trust from the club, so I am very happy. The decision was not difficult to make because both I and the club quickly and easily agreed on everything."
Since 2010, N. Gaitan, playing in the Benfica eleven, has scored 33 goals in 225 matches played.
