Chelsea's defender N'Golo Kante revealed that he didn't want to move to England at all, and could have ended up at Marseille instead. The Frenchman, who was then playing for Caen, had planned to stay in Ligue 1, but eventually arrived at Leicester City, with whom he became a Premier League champion.
Two years ago, he truly believed he would feel better in France, but now, it seems he really has no reason to regret.
"Among the clubs that wanted to sign me the most were Marseille and Leicester," Kante told Canal+.
"I thought I had to go through another stage in France. I remember (Mamadou - ed. note) Niang, Ribery and Nasri once and it was a team that I liked, especially because of the Champions League."
Now Kante is once again named as one of the main contenders to win the award for the best player in the English championship. However, he himself would give this prize to one of his teammates - Eden Hazard, Diego Costa or David Luiz.
