Recently, there have been rumors that RB Leipzig's midfielder Naby Keita could move to Liverpool as soon as this winter, but this was denied by the German club's sporting director Ralf Rangnick.
The 22-year-old footballer has an agreement to join the "reds" from the next season, but Leipzig's team is currently struggling in the UEFA Champions League, which prompted rumors about a quicker transfer.
Nevertheless, the Guinea national team player will still be needed for battles on the domestic front.
"Even if we don't make it to the next stage of the Champions League, releasing Naby to Liverpool earlier would be unreasonable," Rangnick told "Sport Buzzer".
"We want to try to qualify for Europe again next season - of course, through the Bundesliga. For that, we need Naby."
The summer transfer of Keita to the English club will cost a staggering 70 million euros.
