N. Kesminas: In the A League, Vilnius "Žalgiris" will probably triumph.

Former television commentator Nerijus Kesminas made a forecast for the upcoming A league season on his social media account.

„The time when there were zeroes in all the statistics of the A league has come to an end. The country’s football championship is returning to Lithuania’s stadiums and arenas.

Like last year, there will be ten teams. Like last year, the scenario of the season’s opening events is difficult to predict.

One might not need the talents and skills of Nostradamus or Wolf Messing to say that the championship will probably be won again by Vilnius „Žalgiris“. But that’s where the conditional clarity ends. Everywhere else, there are too many unknowns. The league starts without last year’s stars Paulius Golubickas, Liviu Antal, Joel Bopesu, Michael Thique, Nino Noordanus, Artūras Dolžnikovas, Davys Ikauniekas.

But this doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be weaker or less interesting. Legionnaires Elivelto, Fabien Ourega, and Marko Pavlovskis, who previously played successfully here, have returned to Lithuania.
