London's "Arsenal" confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Spanish national team left-back Nacho Monreal has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 29-year-old footballer is one of the key players for the "Gunners". His old contract with "Arsenal" was set to expire in the summer of 2017, but the English Premier League leaders did not wait and offered the Spaniard a new contract.
N. Monreal joined "Arsenal" in the winter of 2013, leaving "Malaga". London's team then paid 8.3 million pounds for the experienced Spaniard.
The defender quickly settled into the team and played about 112 matches in three seasons. This season, N. Monreal has already appeared on the pitch 26 times.
