According to Goal, "Arsenal" has reached an agreement with Nacho Monreal for a new contract that could last until 2019.
The negotiations began back in October, and the official confirmation of this news should happen in the coming days. The 29-year-old player's previous contract was valid until 2017.
Monreal, who arrived at "Arsenal" in January 2013, was linked with a move to "Athletic Bilbao" last summer. According to Goal, this team is still interested in the player and may try to acquire him again next summer.
Monreal himself, who appeared in all Premier League matches this year, admitted in December that he is happy living in London.
"Everything is great. I can say that I feel good both on and off the field. If a player doesn't feel good off the field and in their personal life, it's natural that they wouldn't be able to give themselves fully on the pitch. In my case - I like England, London, and my teammates, so everything is positive," Monreal told the "Arsenal" website.
During his career at "Arsenal," Monreal has already played in 111 matches for the London team.
