Officially announced that, Germany's champions team defender Niklas Sule suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery on Sunday.
It is currently unclear whether the footballer will be able to recover in time for the 2020 European Championship.
The 24-year-old, 195 cm tall athlete got injured in Saturday's Bundesliga match against Augsburg, when he collided with opponent Florian Niederlechner.
The match in Augsburg ended in a 2-2 draw.
