N. Vidičius finishes his football player career

Nemanja Vidic today officially announced the end of his football career. The former Manchester United captain made this decision after being released from the Inter team. His official statement was published on the United team's website. "The time has come for me to hang up my boots. The injuries I suffered over the past years have significantly contributed to this. I would like to thank all the players I played with and all the coaches and staff I worked with. I also want to say a big thank you to all the fans for their support over all these years," Vidic said in his announcement. Starting his career at his hometown club Red Star, Vidic also played for Spartak Subotica, Spartak Moscow, Manchester United, and Inter. The Serbian spent the longest time in England, where he played 300 matches and scored 21 goals in nine years with United. During his career in England, the defender won five Premier League titles, three league cup titles, five FA Community Shield trophies, as well as the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup once each. Vidic also represented the Serbian national team 56 times. The 34-year-old footballer did not make an appearance this season.
