N. Williams: 'I wanted to play in Europe with Athletic club'

The Bilbao "Athletic" club lost to Madrid's "Atletico" after a tough battle, with a score of 0:1.

After the match, Basque country midfielder Nico Williams stated that he does not regret not moving anywhere this summer:

"My heart is in Bilbao, but no one knows what will happen in the future.

It's always great when bigger clubs want you, so that's positive... But I have always said that I want to stay with 'Athletic'.

If there were any offers, I would know from my agent. But I wanted to play in Europe with the Bilbao 'Athletic' team."

22-year-old Nico Williams has been playing for the main Basque team since 2021 and has scored 20 goals in 124 matches.
