The team of "Nancy", who have just been promoted to "Ligue 1" this year, defeated "Nice" 2-1 in the final of the French League Cup and won their first trophy since 1978.
In the 22nd minute, Moncef Zerka put "Nancy" ahead when "Nice" goalkeeper Hugo Lloris failed to clear Pascal Berenguer's shot. However, early in the second half, "Nice" equalized - Marama Vahirua sent the ball into "Nancy" goal with a great shot.
After about an hour of play, it seemed that "Nancy's" situation had become more complicated, as Sebastien Puygrenier was sent off the field for a second yellow card, but despite that, in the 65th minute, "Nancy" broke ahead.
Benjamin Gavanon lifted the ball into the penalty area where the faster Kim outpaced everyone with a great header to beat the "Nice" goalkeeper and score the decisive goal that secured victory in this tournament.
