Long-time Manchester United player Luis Nani has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 38-year-old Portuguese player has recently played for the team Estrela Amadora in the top tier of Portuguese football.
Nani took his first professional steps with Lisbon's Sporting, where he caught the eye of Sir Alex Ferguson, who signed the attacking player to Manchester United in 2007.
He played for United until 2014, when he returned to Sporting on loan. Later, the Portuguese also played for Fenerbahce, Valencia, and Lazio. Towards the end of his career, the footballer played in countries such as the USA and Australia.
Throughout his career, Nani won the Premier League four times and lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy once. In 2016, Nani became a European Champion with the Portuguese national team.
In total, the player has appeared in 112 matches for his national team, scoring 23 goals.
