The club, which finished in just 14th place in this season's French "Ligue 1" championship, seems serious about the next season - after announcing the acquisition of goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovič yesterday, the club informed the media today that they have signed a contract with Nourdin Boukhari, who played in the Netherlands last season.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play in a forward position, represented Amsterdam's "Ajax" club last season. However, after the season ended, the player's contract expired and he did not want to extend it, citing dissatisfaction with the amount of time he spent on the field.
"Nantes", currently going through a difficult period, was looking for a player to strengthen their attacking line, which is currently one of the weakest areas of the team. It is worth mentioning that last season, the Nantes team managed to score only 37 goals in 38 matches in the "Ligue 1".
As announced, Boukhari has signed a four-year contract with the French club and will join his new team mates at the preseason training camp in June.
