The hosts had control from the very first minutes, but struggled to break through the defense of the resilient Spezia players. In the first half, Napoli's winger Kvicha Kvaratskhelia had a few moments, but both times his team was saved by goalkeeper Barlomiej Dragowski. In the second half, Luciano Spalleti's players continued to dominate. They managed to turn their initiative into a goal in the 89th minute. Giacomo Raspadori widened their lead by scoring from the penalty spot. After this match, Napoli temporarily rose to the first position in the standings. Meanwhile, Spezia settled at 14th place.
