„Napoli“ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli reassured other clubs by promising that this summer Gonzalo Higuain will not be sold.
In 2013, the Argentinean arrived from Madrid's „Real“ for 40 million euros and immediately became the leader of the Southern Italian team, with his contract still valid for three more years.
Nevertheless, the press, claiming that Higuain is not satisfied with the fact that „Napoli“ will not play in the UEFA Champions League, links the striker to a transfer to Turin's „Juventus“, „Milan“ and several other European clubs.
„Several northern Italian teams are interested in him, but he will stay with us,“ Giuntoli told Sportitalia.
„Our work now is to strengthen the defensive line. We want to touch the attack as little as possible.“
The club's sporting director also revealed that negotiations are ongoing for „Torino“ full-back Matteo Darmian.
