Safeguard Pavel Nedved has confirmed that he is ready to leave the Czech national team.
Nedved was one of the best footballers during Euro 2004, but suffered an injury and has not been able to recover since.
"I am thinking about retiring from the national team and have already informed coach Karel Bruckner. In about a month, everything will be officially announced," Nedved told the newspaper "Gazzetta dello Sport."
"I feel uncomfortable that I got injured during Euro 2004 and still cannot train with full force with the 'Juve' team, which pays me a salary."
"I can run, but I can't kick the ball - that's why I definitely won't play in the first Champions League qualifiers. I will do everything to appear in the return match," added Nedved.
