"Mauro Icardi is still far from extending his contract with Milan's Inter," says his wife and agent Wanda Nara.
Discussions about M. Icardi's new contract with the fashion capital's club have been ongoing since the summer, but the situation remains unchanged and the current contract still includes a very tempting 110 million euro release clause.
As Wanda herself says, there can be no talk of a new contract if the club does not even offer the player a higher salary.
"At the moment, we are far from extending the contract," the woman told AS magazine. "We are not even close to reaching an agreement. The numbers that appear in the Italian media are distorted - we have not received any proper offer from Inter."
"I cannot rule out the possibility that an agreement will be reached at some point, but at the moment the situation is the opposite. It is not logical to extend the contract when you will continue to earn the same amount after signing it.
We are convinced that Mauro is worth much more. There are several very important clubs interested in his services.
For example, the two biggest clubs in Spain (referring to Real and Barca), with whom I have good relationships. There is also an offer from England (Chelsea) and France (PSG)," said the footballer's agent.
It is unlikely that M. Icardi will leave Inter this January, but in the summer, if the situation remains unchanged, Chelsea and Real Madrid should compete for his acquisition.
