“Manchester United” officially enters a new era.

On Tuesday evening, the “Manchester United” club confirmed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, along with INEOS, acquired 27.7% of the club's shares. He has already received approval from the English Premier League and FA (Football Association).

As announced, the billionaire will take over the sporting side of the club with this action.

In an official statement, J. Ratcliffe said: “Becoming a co-owner of ‘Manchester United’ is a great honor, but it comes with great responsibility. This marks the end of the deal, but only the beginning of our journey where ‘Manchester United’ must return to the top of English, European, and world football, with world-class infrastructure.

Work to achieve these goals will begin today.”

One of the Glazer brothers, Joel, said: “I want to congratulate Sir Jim on joining as a co-owner, I look forward to working closely with him and INEOS Sport to bring a bright future to ‘Manchester United’ club.”

The main shares still remain with the Glazer family.
