New twist in C. Ronaldo case: Las Vegas police want to obtain Portuguese DNA sample

The Las Vegas police demanded a sample of Cristiano Ronaldo's DNA and issued an order for the investigation into the footballer's alleged sexual assault to continue successfully, reports lrytas.lt.

The US media reports that the order was immediately sent to the court system in Italy, where C.Ronaldo currently resides.

"C. Ronaldo has always said and still says that what happened in Las Vegas in 2009 was by mutual consent. The fact that the police are asking for DNA is not surprising," said C.Ronaldo's lawyer, Peter Christiansen.

Allegations of sexual assault in public emerged last autumn, first reported by the German newspaper "Der Spiegel," in which the victim, 34-year-old Kathryn Mayorga, emphasized that C.Ronaldo paid her $375,000 for silence.

C.Ronaldo's lawyers stated that there was an agreement, but the reasons behind it are highly distorted.

They claimed that all information about the assault has been distorted, while the Germans, who broke the story, urged not to doubt its authenticity.
