„Brighton and Hove Albion“ team announced today that the club's sports director Dan Ashworth has officially left. The technical director, Dan Ashworth, is expected to join „Newcastle United“ soon. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that former „Brighton“ sports director has already reached an agreement with „Newcastle“ club and is expected to become the new face of transfers in the market in the coming months. In the fall, the „Newcastle“ club was officially acquired by a Saudi Arabian consortium and since then the club has been looking for a sports director. Among the candidates mentioned were Michael Emenalo, Michael Edwards, and Steve Hitchen. This January transfer window, the „Magpies“ were the most active in the transfer market, acquiring players such as Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier, and Matt Targett.
