During the response "Carabao" Cup semi-final match that took place on Tuesday evening, "Newcastle" defeated the "Southampton" team with a score of 2:1 (3:1 on aggregate).

The "Magpies" started the match off well and already had a two-goal lead halfway through the first half. Sean Longstaff scored in the 5th minute after a pass from Kieran Trippier. The Englishman scored another goal in the 21st minute, completing a brace.

The "Saints" looked dismal, but in the 29th minute they managed to reduce the deficit. Che Adams found the back of the net from the penalty area.

However, Bruno Guimarães was sent off with a red card, ruining a great evening for "Newcastle". The Brazilian committed a serious foul against his opponent and had to leave the field earlier. This also means that the goalkeeper won't be able to help his team in the upcoming final.

In the "Carabao" Cup final, Eddie Howe's team will face the winner of the "Manchester United" and "Nottingham Forest" pair.
