The club director Freddie Shepherd confirmed that this season will be the last for the team's current coach Bobby Robson.
When the "Guardian" newspaper asked F. Shepherd if he would like to extend B. Robson's contract, he unequivocally replied - "No" and added that the club would enter the Guinness World Records if it had a 73-year-old coach.
Speaking about Alan Shearer's statement that he would like to become the new club coach, F. Shepherd said - "I think he would be a good coach. I hope for that and believe that he would not lack determination."
