He signed a contract with the free agent Shefki Kuqi.

The 34-year-old striker terminated his contract with the Championship club "Swansea" at the end of January, so he could find a new team after the transfer window closed.

Kuqi will be one of the players to replace Andy Carroll, who moved to "Liverpool" on the last day of January.

Newcastle also showed interest in another free agent - Jeremie Aliadiere.
