The captain of the Brazilian national team, Neymar, received a yellow card in the match against El Salvador. The card was given to the Brazilian by referee Jair Marrufo, who saw simulation by the star player trying to earn a penalty kick.
However, Neymar disagrees with this decision and expressed criticism towards the referee.
"I don't know what I have to do about this reputation. I am definitely not going to give in after such a situation. I think this should end.
This is a lack of respect, not only towards me, but also towards my teammates. Playing with a yellow card is difficult. A guy comes to referee Brazil's national team matches, when there are so many referees to choose from, and he behaves like this... I don't think it's fair.
If he doesn't want to give a penalty, that's not a problem, but the card was not necessary," Neymar complained.
