The police in Brazil have started an investigation into a video released by Paris Saint-Germain club player Neymar, revealing details of his communication with a woman who accused the footballer of sexual assault, as reported by lrytas.lt website.
Last week, the woman claimed that Neymar assaulted her in Paris. The Brazilian player, who plays for the club in this city, did not deny knowing the alleged victim, but stated that their sexual relations were consensual.
In a 7-minute video posted on Instagram, Neymar revealed his chat with the woman and her photos.
After the video was released, the police in Brazil started an investigation. According to Brazilian laws, it is prohibited to publish videos or audiovisual recordings and photos showing violence, as well as to distribute sexual or pornographic material without the consent of the participants. Police officers visited the Brazilian national team training camp in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
If Neymar is found guilty of assault, he could face up to five years in prison.
