On Tuesday, the 2022 FIFA World Cup African zone qualifying matches ended. This winter, we will not see one of the best football players in the world, Mohamed Salah, whose Egyptian national team had to admit Senegal's advantage in crucial matches after a penalty shootout. Egypt won the first match at home with a minimal result of 1:0, but in the second leg Senegal already secured a victory with the same result and the teams had to play extra time. There were no goals scored in extra time, so everything was decided in a penalty shootout. Egypt only scored one penalty out of four, and among those who missed was M. Salah. The decisive penalty for Senegal was scored by M. Salah's teammate at Liverpool, Sadio Mane. Nigeria also missed out on the World Cup, as they drew 1:1 with Ghana in the second leg match at home. Since the first leg ended in a goalless draw, Ghana advanced to the World Cup due to the away goals rule. Cameroon, Morocco, and Tunisia also advanced to the World Cup.
