As reported on Wednesday by the Spanish "Primera" league club, the Turkish national team and "Yellow Submarine" forward Nihat has suffered another knee injury and will miss the rest of the season.

During the drawing of the King's Cup, the club's press representative, Jose Manuel Llaneza, told the media that he was informed that the 26-year-old player suffered a serious knee injury during training.

"I found out that Nihat will be out for six months due to a knee injury," said J.M. Llaneza. "It seems that this type of injury is really affecting us this year, so we will have to consider whether to buy a new forward to replace him, or try to continue playing without him."

Last season, the Turk, who left "Real Sociedad" at the end of the previous season and moved to "Villarreal", tore the cruciate ligaments in his left knee in the summer of 2005 and was forced to miss the rest of the season.

In addition, last month, while representing his national team in the 2008 European Championship qualifiers, the forward strained the same knee ligaments and was out of the lineup for three weeks.

In the Spanish league this season, there is a true epidemic of knee injuries - "Villarreal" has already lost their center-back Gonzalo Rodriguez, and former French national team and London "Arsenal" club defender Robert Pires, who have injured their cruciate ligaments. In addition, Valencia's defender Edu also suffered a knee ligament injury in last Saturday's match against Sevilla.

"Villarreal" currently sits in ninth place in the national championship with 18 points.
