"Real" sought to reclaim the 34-year-old veteran, as Argentine Gonzalo Higuain suffered a serious injury, but "Hamburg" rejected a €2 million offer.
"We can reject the possibility of extending the contract with "Hamburg,"" said agent Roger Linse. "We do not understand why Ruud was not released and my client is angry about it."
