Norwegian clubs voted for the rejection of VAR

Norway could become the first country to abandon the VAR system, ESPN reports.

On Thursday, teams from Norway's top league and second division voted to reject VAR.

19 out of 32 clubs supported the proposal.

However, the clubs themselves cannot decide on the use or rejection of VAR; that must be done by the Norwegian Football Federation.

Decisions regarding the abandonment of VAR will be made at a meeting of representatives from the Norwegian Football Federation in March, where the clubs' proposal will be presented.
