On Wednesday evening, the final three participants of the FA Cup quarterfinals were determined.
London's "Tottenham" club, coached by Jose Mourinho, experienced a fiasco at their stadium. "Spurs" lost to "Norwich City" after an 11-meter penalty shootout and ended their performance in another tournament.
Jan Vertonghen put "Tottenham" in the lead in the 13th minute, but "Norwich" equalized in the 78th minute and extended the fight to extra time.
There were no goals in extra time, and the winner was decided in the penalty shootout. Tim Krul, stopping two opponents' shots, contributed to "Norwich's" advancement to the next stage. In total, "Norwich" scored three accurate shots, while "Spurs" only managed to score two out of five attempts.
In other matches, "Manchester City" also secured a narrow victory and advanced to the quarterfinals. Sergio Aguero's goal in the 53rd minute secured a 1-0 win for the "City" against "Sheffield Wed" from the Championship.
With the same scoreline (1-0), "Leicester City" players triumphed at home. Ricardo Pereira's goal in the 82nd minute eliminated "Birmingham City" club.
Immediately after Wednesday evening's matches, the draw for the FA Cup quarterfinals was held. The battles of this stage will take place on March 21-22. On Thursday, the final participant - "Derby" will face "Man Utd".
