Erling Haaland decided to move to "Manchester City" club in the summer of 2022. However, the Norwegian could have ended up in another team in the city before.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who coached "Manchester United" from 2018 to 2021, revealed to "The Overlap" portal that he suggested to the "Red Devils" executives to buy the promising footballer.
"That summer, before I arrived at 'Manchester United', I called them and said that you have to buy Erling Haaland. He will be a superb player. Absolutely top class."
"It was June, July of 2018... they replied: No, we already have enough forwards."
"Molde" sold the Norwegian to the "Red Bull Salzburg" club, but when he didn't play in the Austrian champions team for three or four months, I told the "Manchester United" executives: Just buy him now!
"E. Haaland had a release clause of 20 million euros. It would have been an ideal deal."
