London's "Chelsea" announced on Tuesday that the team's forward Olivier Giroud has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
The 32-year-old Frenchman recently expressed dissatisfaction with the decisions made by Maurizio Sarri, and there were reports in the foreign media that the forward could return to play in his homeland.
However, it was important for "Chelsea" to keep O. Giroud, as the club is prohibited from signing players in the next two transfer windows. However, this decision may be postponed until winter.
"I am extremely happy that I managed to sign a new contract. I wanted to stay here for at least one more season. I feel that I have integrated into the team since my arrival. I hope that in the future we will be able to win more trophies," said O. Giroud after signing the contract.
The forward has been simply unstoppable in the UEFA Europa League tournament this season, scoring 10 goals in 13 matches and helping the "aristocrats" reach the tournament final.
