London's "Arsenal" coach Arsene Wenger believes that Olivier Giroud will return to the field earlier than initially thought.
The forward injured his foot in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool's "Everton" back in August and was sidelined until January.
However, following the operation, Wenger hopes that the Frenchman will recover from the injury faster.
"Olivier Giroud is recovering very quickly," the coach said to beIN Sports. "I believe he is ahead of the rehabilitation schedule. The operation went smoothly."
Due to the injury experienced by the French national team player, Wenger had to acquire Danny Welbeck from "Manchester United" for 20 million euros on the last day of the transfer window.
The Englishman is the only striker in the "Gunners" ranks and has scored four goals so far. The team's coach is confident that these strikers can play together on the field.
"Welbeck and Giroud can play both together in the center and separately," Wenger added. "Welbeck played on the wing while representing Manchester United. He played alongside Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, so he can be useful not only in the midfield."
