Hasan Salihamidžić and Oliver Kahn made a very unpopular decision on Thursday. By the management's decision, Bayern's head coach position was left by Julian Nagelsmann, and he was replaced by another German, Thomas Tuchel.

Bayern fans did not see much sense in changing the 35-year-old specialist at the end of the season.

The results in the Champions League were very good, and the promising coach continued to maintain his high performance. There was a stumble in the Bundesliga, as Dortmund's "Borussia" surpassed the "Bavarians", but in the last 10 years, the Munich club has been in a similar situation multiple times, ultimately managing to win the title.

However, Bayern management decided to react earlier. H. Salihamidžić and O. Kahn explained this decision at a press conference.

"We were not able to transfer fantastic performances or special energy onto the field. Perhaps it worked only occasionally. Analyzing, we concluded that we need to make changes. The stars aligned differently.

We constantly observe training sessions and matches. There was a lack of energy on the field, which we also saw in the match against Leverkusen. We had to sit down and decide. When you see the second half of the season, you realize that this is no longer just a temporary form, we had to react.

It was not an easy decision. We had a great relationship with Julian. I know that it is not a popular decision. We thought strongly and believe that we made the best decision for the Bayern club," - commented the Bayern sports director on their decision.

Meanwhile, O. Kahn provided examples of poor performances and talked about the new team coach Thomas Tuchel: "The best example is our performances last season against Villarreal and in the Pokal against the M'Gladbach team. This team is capable of creating fantastic performances, but also has inexplicable moments of weakness. Before the season, we reinforced the squad again.

Currently, we have one of the best squads in Europe. However, there was no continuity. We cannot be satisfied with performances and results this year. We won only 5 out of 10 Bundesliga matches - this is not our ambition.

There is no need to discuss Thomas's qualities, they are impressive. His career proves it. Leading a team like PSG forward is not easy. He took them to the Champions League final. He also had a highly successful period at Chelsea. His CV is impressive," - the legendary goalkeeper praised the new coach.
