O. Kučera's red card - the fastest in Champions League history

Donetsk "Shakhtar" defender Oleksandr Kucher in yesterday's return UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Bayern Munich became a record-breaker - he was shown a red card after the least amount of time from the start of the match.

The first leg between the teams in Ukraine ended goalless, but the visitors' hopes were shattered in the third minute in Germany.

Kucher then brought down Mario Gotze in the penalty area, and Scottish referee Willie Collum was merciless and sent the defender off the field and awarded a penalty, which was coolly converted by Thomas Muller.

"Bayern" went on to score a total of seven goals against their opponents.

The previous record for the fastest red card belonged to Craig Bellamy, who was sent off just five minutes after the referee's whistle in 2002.
