O. Tabarez is not certain about his future in the Uruguayan national football team.

Since 2006, Oscar Tabarez, who is the coach of Uruguay, is not sure about his future in the team after losing 0:2 (0:1) to the French national team, lrt.lt wrote.

"I don't know of any examples where a coach decides who will continue training the team. I have a contract, but I will not talk about my future in the national team, because it does not depend on me. I have never liked commenting on such situations. This time it will be the same as after the World Cup in Brazil, when it was decided whether I could continue coaching the national team," Tabarez said at a press conference after the quarter-final match.

Raphael Varane and Antoine Griezmann scored the crucial goals for Uruguay. Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was blamed for the second goal after catching the ball but letting it slip from his hands into the net.

The coach refused to blame the players for the result and stated that it was fair.

"I will not say that I am disappointed in my players. The second goal was not normal, but F. Muslera is an important part of our team. I will not shirk responsibility for the actions of my players," the coach said.

He insisted that they did not play as well as the opponents and lost because of it: "When I say that we were not good, I am talking about the whole team, not just the players on the field. In the first 20 minutes, we played very actively physically, but we did not score. Later they did score, and it had a big impact on the rest of the game."

Tabarez emphasized that after the second French goal, the big difference between the teams was evident, and the South Americans simply could not control the Europeans.

"They were simply better, and I acknowledge that," concluded the press conference the coach of the Uruguayan national team.
