During this season, the "Leicester City" club, which has been showing poor results in the English "Premier" league, received its first newcomer in this winter transfer window.
The English champions officially confirmed that they acquired defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from "Genk". The 20-year-old footballer from Nigeria signed a contract with the "Foxes" until 2022.
According to media reports, Leicester were willing to pay about 15 million pounds sterling for the African player.
Throughout this season, the Leicester team has had problems in the defensive line, where last year they had the exceptional N'Golo Kante. In the summer, the "Foxes" acquired the Frenchman's replacement, but Nampalys Mendy could not help the team one hundred percent due to injuries.
Claudio Ranieri, upon the start of the transfer window, decided to acquire a promising defensive midfielder.
During this season, W. Ndidi played 34 matches in the "Genk" team and scored three goals.
