When summer started, "Manchester United" had no doubts that 26-year-old Antoine Griezmann would strengthen the ranks of the "Red Devils."
However, it will not happen - the French national team striker had already revealed earlier that he will not leave Madrid's "Atletico" club after their transfer ban, and the player himself received a new contract for his loyalty.
In 2015, A. Griezmann had signed a new long-term contract with "Rojiblancos," with a buyout clause of 100 million euros. However, "Atletico" offered the Frenchman an even newer contract, which will be valid until 2022.
It is undeniable that after signing the new contract, A. Griezmann's salary increased, but the buyout clause, which "Man Utd" was ready to pay this summer, remained the same - 100 million euros.
Since 2014, the Frenchman defending the colors of the team coached by Diego Simeone has played a total of 160 matches for the club and scored 83 goals.
