Attacking midfielder Adel Taarabtas terminated his contract with London's Queens Park Rangers by mutual agreement and will represent Lisbon's Benfica for the next five years.
The Moroccan, who was a leader at QPR a few years ago, has only made sporadic appearances this season.
The 26-year-old footballer has not played regularly for the London team since the 2012-13 season.
At the beginning of the 2013-14 season, Taarabtas missed out on London's Fulham, and during the winter transfer window, he was loaned out to Milan.
