London's Arsenal has expanded its ranks of defenders - Cedric Soares is joining the team.
The 28-year-old defender was borrowed by the Gunners with an option to acquire full rights to him after the season. This is the second time in the last few years that the Portuguese has been loaned to another team.
Last winter, C. Soares was loaned to Inter Milan, but he did not achieve much success there.
This summer, the right-back defender returned to Southampton and played 19 matches.
C. Soares has been with Southampton since 2015.
He is the second defender to strengthen Arsenal this winter. Earlier, center-back Pablo Mari joined the team.
