Rumors about the arrival of La Coruna's "Deportivo" striker Lucas Perez to London's "Arsenal" have been circulating for several weeks - now officially confirmed.
On the official website of the English vice-champions, it is announced that a long-term contract has been signed with the 27-year-old sniper. The official transfer fee is not disclosed, but it is undisputed that "Arsenal" has paid the 20 million euro buyout clause specified in the player's contract.
This summer, "Arsenal" looked at several strikers, but all the players linked to the club either went to other teams or stayed. Finally, the "gunners" decided to focus on the leader of the La Coruna team and completed negotiations in a few weeks.
A. Wenger officially said to the club's website: "He is not just a goal scorer, he can play well with his teammates. He can also receive the ball and finish things on his own. Lucas has a good eye for scoring goals, as he proved last season."
"Deportivo" officially acquired L. Perez in August 2015, although before that he already defended the club's honor on loan basis for a season. Last season, in the "La Liga" championship, the striker scored 17 goals in 36 games.
