Madrid's "Atletico" announces that the previous goalkeeper Jan Oblak's contract, according to which the Slovenian was supposed to stay at the club until 2020, has been extended for another year.
The 23-year-old footballer joined the "mattresses" at the beginning of last season after leaving Lisbon's "Benfica" and quickly became one of the team's key players.
This season, in 23 "La Liga" matches, Oblak only conceded 11 goals and kept his goal "dry" in 14 matches.
"To me, this means that the club trusts me," the player told the official "Atletico" website. "I am very happy about it and thank everyone who helped renew the contract."
"I really feel great. I am very happy and satisfied with all the coaching staff and club employees. That's why I stay here."
Currently, the capital team is in second place in the Spanish championship, trailing the "Barcelona" club by three points, having played one game less.
