"Madridd's "Real" and "Atletico" clubs have reached an agreement on Marcos Llorente's transfer deal.
The 24-year-old footballer, who graduated from Madrid's "Real" academy, is leaving for "Atletico" for a fee of 40 million euros. Playing as a defensive midfielder, M. Llorente proved his worth last season when he got a chance under Santiago Solari, but lost his role in the team again when Zidane returned.
"Atletico" stated that the Spaniard will undergo a medical examination in the near future and sign a five-year contract.
M. Llorente had previously left "Real" only on loan, having had an excellent 2016-17 season at "Alaves".
In the main "Real" team, M. Llorente managed to play a total of 39 matches and score two goals.
"Atletico" is buying a player from their neighbors for the first time since 2006. Two years ago, they made the opposite deal, acquiring Theo Hernandez from Real Madrid.
