Madrid's "Atletico" snap up a gem - they have reached an agreement with 23-year-old Portuguese national team winger Gelson Martins, who became a free agent this summer. The promising footballer was left without a club this summer after terminating his contract with Lisbon's "Sporting". The Spanish vice champions didn't miss their chance - G. Martins soon put pen to paper on a five-year contract. G. Martins has spent his entire career up until now playing for the "Sporting" team. The Portuguese made his debut in the main team in 2015, playing 125 matches and scoring 25 goals. A player known for his excellent ball control and great speed, G. Martins has been attracting the attention of European giants for some time, but "Sporting", not facing such a tragic situation back then, refused to sell the promising player. G. Martins was the fourth newcomer to the "Atletico" team this summer - they also reached agreements with Rodri, Thomas Lemar, and Antonio Adan.
