"Atletico" club in Madrid continues to strengthen their squad - the latest acquisition is the Spanish national team central defender Mario Hermoso. The 24-year-old Spaniard has been playing for the Barcelona "Espanyol" team since 2017. "Atletico" paid 25 million euros for the promising footballer. Another 5 million euros may have to be paid to the "rojiblancos" club depending on the team and player's achievements. Half of this transfer fee will go to the Madrid "Real" club, which owned 50 percent of the player's rights. M. Hermoso was raised in the "Real" academy, although he never made his debut in the main team. With the defender, who has also played on loan for the "Real Valladolid" team, "Atletico" signed a five-year contract. He played 35 matches last season and scored three goals. In the "Atletico" team, M. Hermoso became the eighth new addition - Kieran Trippier, Joao Felix, Hector Moreno, Felipe, Marcos Llorente, Renan Lodi, and Ivan Saponjic also joined the club.
