Former Bayern Munich head coach Louis van Gaal was dismissed from his duties over the weekend.
The 59-year-old specialist was supposed to leave the team at the end of the season, but after another draw in the domestic championship and the threat of not qualifying for the Champions League, the club leaders decided to take drastic actions.
One of van Gaal's assistants, Andries Jonker, will temporarily take over the team's helm, and in the summer, as announced earlier, Jupp Heynckes, who is currently in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, will become the coach of Bayern.
