Germany's football was shaken by an impressive deal: Munich's "Bayern" paid 37 million euros to buy out the contract of Dortmund's "Borussia" leader Mario Gotze.
Exactly this amount is specified in the 20-year-old German's contract, so "Borussia" could not prevent the deal from going through, which will take effect on July 1.
It is also added that the player has already agreed on personal long-term contract terms, according to which he will add 7 million euros to his pocket every year - 2 million euros more than with Dortmund.
"We are extremely disappointed," said "Borussia" representative Hans-Joachim Watzke. "However, it must be emphasized that both Mario and his representatives acted in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the contract."
Next season, Germany's champions will be coached by the famous Pep Guardiola, which reportedly was one of the main reasons that convinced Gotze to make the move. He will leave Dortmund, where he played since childhood - since 2001.
This season, the attacking midfielder scored ten goals in 28 matches in the German championship. He also managed to score twice in the UEFA Champions League.
