Official: "Borussia" acquired a member of the Danish national team

Dortmund's "Borussia" announced that they have acquired midfielder Thomas Delaney from "Werder" Bremen.

Although the exact transfer fee is not disclosed, according to various reports, the 26-year-old player cost around 20 million euros.

Now the Dane has signed a four-year contract with his new team.

"Borussia Dortmund's experience with Danish national team players has always been top class," said sports director Michael Zorc on the official website.

"Thomas Delaney is a physically and psychologically strong player. He will complement our game with his physical strength."

Before arriving in Dortmund, Delaney spent only 18 months with "Werder", but he was already being eyed by English clubs.

"Playing in the Premier League has always been a big dream of mine and I had offers," said the Dane. "However, when Borussia Dortmund was mentioned, I didn't have to think long."

"BvB belongs among the top ten strongest teams in Europe and is one of the two strongest clubs in Germany, with their stadium being the best in Europe."

This season in the Bundesliga, Delaney scored three goals in 32 matches.
