Dortmund strengthened their defensive line by acquiring Bayern Munich player Sebastian Rode for an undisclosed fee.
On Monday, the 25-year-old German passed a medical examination and signed a long-term contract.
"I have supported Borussia since childhood and cannot wait to play for my favorite club," said the defender who has signed with Borussia for four years.
"Thomas Tuchel is a top-level coach. It will be great to wear the yellow-black outfit."
In the past, Rode has played for Eintracht Frankfurt and Kickers Offenbach.
