Dortmund's "Borussia" officially announced that the team has been reinforced by 18-year-old "Rennes" forward Ousmane Dembele.
A contract with the promising French player has been signed until 2021.
O. Dembele was sought after by giants such as "Barcelona," "Liverpool," and Munich's "Bayern."
"Ousmane can play in any attacking position," said the sports director of the German club, Michael Zorc.
"I can only express my respect for a player who rejected so many offers from top-level teams and committed his future to our club for a long time."
This season, the French U-21 player scored 12 goals in 25 "Ligue 1" league matches.
O. Dembele stated: "BVB paid a lot of attention to me and always tried to maintain a connection, which left a big impression on me.
I chose "Borussia" solely for sporting reasons. I can't wait to play in front of 80,000 fans at the "Signal Iduna Park" stadium and compete in the UEFA Champions League tournament."
The transfer fee was not disclosed, but it is believed to be around 35 million euros.
